MINI . New to stick shift driving, couple questions?

New to stick shift driving, couple questions? Ive been watching my friend do it for a while and now been practicing myself for a couple days. people tell me when youre shifting from one gear to another that you have to ease up on the clutch as you ease down onto the gas equally, but i noticed that when i go from neutral into firsst if i want i can just let up on the clutch real slow and the car will start moving on its own without me giving gas. and i can give it gas after im off the clutch, is this true for other gears? say if im in first and im going 15 if i want can i shift into second and let go of the clutch and THEN start giving gas, instead of easing up on the clutch and giving gas simultaneously? is this possible when going in reverse? also my friend eases off the clutch depending on how fast he pushes down on the gas, and he almost stalls like all the time, somehow i got the idea in my head that how quickly you let off the clutch should be based on how many rpm's youre going, is this true? if thats the case, when i want to do a quick start should i give gas and up the rpm's before i start to let go of the clutch? i know these questions must sound weird but ive only been doin this like a day and cant wait to get back at it tomorrow. Any advice plz car insurance.

MINI . How to Clean the Throttle Body for an 87 4Runnner

The throttle body on a 1987 Toyota 4Runner is part of the air intake system. It contains a mechanically operated plate in the center of the body unit that is connected to the gas pedal by a cable. When the gas pedal is depressed, this throttle plate opens and allows more air into the engine, raising the engine speed and creating acceleration. As the vehicle ages, carbon and other contaminants accumulate in the throttle body, reducing its effectiveness. Aerosol carburetor cleaner is the preferred solvent for removing contaminants from the throttle body.
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions Things You'll Need
Flat head screwdriver
Aerosol carburetor cleaner
Clean shop rag

Step by Step :
1
Stop the vehicle on a flat surface and shift the transmission into park (automatic) or first gear (manual). Turn off the engine, apply the parking brake and open the hood. Allow the engine to cool for at least 90 minutes.
2
Locate the throttle body on the front of the engine. It is made from aluminum and connects to the intake manifold. It is circular and approximately 3 inches in diameter.
3
Loosen the band clamp holding the black air intake hose to the throttle body with a flat head screwdriver. Remove the air intake hose from the throttle body and swing it out of the way.
4
Ask an assistant to depress the gas pedal to open the throttle butterfly plate inside the throttle body. Spray a moderate amount of carburetor cleaner inside the throttle body. Wipe the dissolved carbon out of the throttle body with a clean shop rag. Spray more carburetor cleaner into the throttle body and wipe it clean. Repeat this process until all of the carbon is gone.
5
Reattach the air intake hose to the throttle body and tighten the band clamp with a flat head screwdriver. Start the engine and operate the vehicle normally.
Tips & Warnings
The engine may be slightly difficult to start at first, due to excess carburetor cleaner inside the intake manifold. This is similar to it being "flooded." If the engine doesn't start after multiple attempts, allow it to sit for one or two hours and then start it. One or two hours is normally a sufficient amount of time for any excess carburetor cleaner to evaporate.

MINI . How to Clean Throttle Body on Ford F250 5.8L

The Ford F-250 5.8-liter engine uses a throttle body to control the mixture of air and fuel going into the engine. As you press on the accelerator, the butterfly located in the throttle body bore opens up. This increases the amount of air going into the engine. Due to fuel blow back, a throttle body gets dirty inside and stops functioning to the best of its ability. Cleaning the throttle body bore is an easy way to improve performance.
Difficulty:Moderately Easy
Instructions Things You'll Need
Screwdriver
Throttle body cleaner
Toothbrush

Step by Step :
1
Locate the silver aluminum throttle body between the large black air intake tube and the intake manifold directly between the radiator and the engine. The throttle body has linkage connected to the right side of the housing. The linkage has several cables connected to it that are covered in a black protective coating.
2
Loosen the band clamp that holds the air intake tube onto the front of the throttle body with a screwdriver and then pull the tube off the throttle body.
3
Spray the inside of the throttle body with throttle body cleaner. Use a toothbrush to scrub the inside of the part. This includes the butterfly valve in the center of the throttle body bore. Add additional throttle body cleaner as needed.
4
Place the air intake tube back onto the front of the throttle body and tighten the clamp in place with the screwdriver.
5
Turn on the Ford F-250 and run the engine for a few minutes to rid the throttle body of any cleaner left.

f you think about tires only when it's time to buy new ones, you need to / think again. The right tires in the right condition can enhance your driving experience and make it safer. In fact, your brakes and your tires have a two-way relationship: Poor braking action results in increased tire wear, but properly balanced and aligned wheels and properly inflated tires in good condition can help stop your car up to 25 percent faster! There's also a strong correlation between tire inflation and tire wear. If your tires are underinflated, the outer treads wear out faster. If your tires are overinflated, the centers of the tread areas go. And if the wheels get out of alignment, your tires can wear out in as little as one day of hard driving! So to get more mileage from your tires, plus better braking action and a smoother, quieter ride, you ought to know a bit about buying, checking, and maintaining the tires on your vehicle. In this chapter, I tell you about the kinds of tires available. (You can buy different types and grades, and just as you wouldn't wear your finest shoes to the beach, you don't want to put the most expensive, long-lasting, high-speed radials on an old car that just goes back and forth to the shopping center.) I also tell you how to check your tires and how to "read" your treads for clues about how well your car is performing — and how well you're driving. If these clues show that you need to have your wheels balanced or aligned, or your tires replaced, I provide enough information for you to be sure that the work is done the right way for the right price. 3 OS Part "l: Kee P'n9 Your ^ar in 6ood Condition, System by System You don't have to do much (in terms of physical labor) with this chapter, so just find a comfortable place to read, relax, and enjoy. For information about how to change a tire, see Chapter 1. Tire Construction

MINI . WHY car don have inner tube?

*
Every tire has several major parts (see Figure 19-1): u0 The tread is the rubber part of the tire that gets most of the wear and tear. The tread patterns help the tire grip the road and resist puncturing. These patterns are also excellent indicators of tire wear. I get into reading these clues later in this chapter, in the section called "Checking your tires for wear." V The sidewall is the part of the tire between the tread and the bead. The section called "The Secrets on Your Sidewalls, Revealed!" later in this chapter decodes all the useful data molded into the sidewall of a tire. v* The bead is a hoop of steel wire that's shaped to help hold the tire onto the rim of the wheel. V* The casing (or carcass) is the body of the tire, located beneath the tread and the sidewalls. It helps the tire keep its shape when inflated, instead of letting it blow up like a balloon. The casing is made up of various materials, called cords. v* The belts are also made up of cords, which are coated with rubber and located between the body and the tread. The type of material used for the belts, and the way it's wrapped around the bead, determine the kind of tire and its price. Originally, cotton was used for the cords, but it soon gave way to better materials, such as steel, aramid (which is harder than steel)7fiberglass, polyester, rayon, and nylon. Steel-belted radials are the most popular type of tires today. v* The tire valve lets air into and out of a tire. The valve core prevents air from escaping. Each valve should have a valve cap to keep dirt and moisture from getting into the tire. Until recently, tires came in a variety of constructions. There were bias-ply tires, which featured cords wrapped around the beads at overlapping angles. These were superseded by bias-belted tires, which were constructed in the same manner as bias-ply tires but featured belts of another material that wrapped around the tires' circumference, providing longer wear, puncture resistance, and more directional stability. Today, all vehicles come fitted with radial tires and, because all but the oldest vehicles run well with them, bias-ply and bias-belted tires are no longer readily available. .Chapter 19: Checking Your Tires, Alignment, and Steering Figure 19-1:
